Once upon a time (a week ago), I received an email from a member of the team at Spotify telling me that I had won two tickets to see Eric Clapton live in concert. I was raised on and love Eric Clapton’s music, so naturally, I was completely over the moon about this news! Later today, I am making the journey with a friend to the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT to see the legendary Mr. Clapton perform. The Wallflowers are opening. This is literally a dream come true.
Here is a little collection of some of my favorite Clapton tunes. The majority of the playlist is from Unplugged because it is my absolute favorite. Seven songs do not even begin to represent his body of work, but it will have to do."
Happy March, y’all! This week, I have some excellent jazz and blues for you. The playlist features some sparkling gems from the following artists.:
Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Pete Lanctot is quite the talented man about town. The Hot Sardines are a force to be reckoned with and jazzed about. Retro-modern Dutch singer Caro Emerald has a voice and magnetic prowess that makes audiences swoon. Lily & the Parlour Tricks have a swell sound and give audiences a reason to be rowdy. Lake Street Dive possess avant-garde musical diversity that goes on for days. He’s My Brother She’s My Sister are swingy, theatrical, and oh so lively. And finally, one of my longtime favorites, Dave Brubeck, has some mighty fine jazz panache. Dig in!"
